How it started
Built different. Literally on a runway.
Shenington Airfield is not your typical venue. That's why we love it.
The Runway Social is a seasonal bar and street food destination on a working airfield in the Cotswolds. Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday mornings throughout the summer. Good food, proper drinks and a view that never gets old.
No tickets. No dress code. Just turn up.

The Location
We're tucked beside the active runway at a small general aviation airfield. That means light aircraft, gliders, and the occasional vintage warbird passing within spitting distance of your pint. The airfield's been here since the 1940s, we just added the bar bit.
Parking is free on site. Pull up, park, and you're here. And yes, you might see or hear planes.
We also have covered areas, so a bit of British drizzle is not a reason to stay home.

Milestones
The idea takes off
It started as a simple idea: a bar on a working airfield, good food, proper drinks, and something the area had never seen before.
Doors open
After a year of building, painting and plumbing, we opened our doors to a queue of curious locals and some very confused pilots.
The terrace lands
We built an outdoor terrace facing the runway. Turns out watching planes land with a cold beer is exactly as good as we imagined.
Still going strong
Live music, more street food traders and the same slightly unhinged energy that got us here.
Makeover
A full makeover — new look, covered seating area and a few things we should have done sooner. Same great vibe.
Fresh look, same runway
2026 brought a proper refresh. New finishes, a covered seating area for when the sky does what it does, and a layout that feels like it was always meant to be this way. Everything else? Exactly the same."
Same airfield, same terrace, same cold beers, same vibe.
